The Story of Rosy Dock

10m Children’s, Environmental, Nature, Short 1995

An animated short film by children’s author Jeannie Baker about a beautiful garden in the desert and its unexpected impact on the environment.

This animated short film tells the story of a woman who ventures into the Australian desert to live. Not seeing the unique wonders around her, she innocently imports foreign flora to recreate her former home. But her new garden in the wilderness has an unexpected cost. Internationally acclaimed children’s book author and artist Jeannie Baker uses a unique collage art form to capture the textures and colours of the central Australian landscape in remarkable detail.
