NFSA Player is a new way for Australia to access selected titles from the National Film and Sound Archive’s audiovisual collection.

Presented for the first time in this format – streaming on demand, in full, across devices and without advertising – items from the collection are now able to be enjoyed across Australia via the NFSA Player platform.

NFSA Player does not require a subscription. Simply pay for what you’d like to view, and you’ll have 30 days to watch your selection as many times as you like.

You can rent titles individually, or save by purchasing complete collections. There’s also a selection of free content that you can watch at any time. For help with how to view, see our FAQs.

Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2023 with the Buwindja Collection

NFSA Player is proud to launch with The Buwindja Collection – a selection of 17 titles curated to reflect the 2023 NAIDOC Week theme: For Our Elders.

The NFSA celebrates NAIDOC Week in person and online with Ngara, Buwindja, Nangamai (Listen, Remember, Dream in Dharawal language), a program curated by Gillian Moody. Moody, a Wodi Wodi woman, is an award-winning filmmaker and the NFSA’s Senior Manager, Indigenous Connections.

As well as Buwindja on NFSA Player, Ngara is a range of screenings and events at the NFSA’s home venue in Acton, Canberra, while Nangamai explores content from the national audiovisual collection online. See more at or subscribe to our newsletter for more of the national story direct to your inbox.
