This Video On Demand Privacy Policy is an extension of the NFSA Privacy Policy.

The purpose of this statement is to let users of any National Film and Sound Archive of Australia-branded video-on-demand platform know what information is collected about them when they visit this site, how this information is used and if it is disclosed.

When you create an account or use an NFSA-branded video-on-demand platform, you consent to the NFSA handling any personal information and other data it collects from you in accordance with the NFSA Privacy Policy and this NFSA Video On Demand Privacy Policy.

  1. Information collected

    When you access an NFSA-branded video-on-demand platform, you may be asked to register an account. When you register an account, we may collect:

    • contact details

    • login details

    • demographic information.

    An account may only be registered by a person who is 18 years or older and is located in Australia where the NFSA-branded video-on-demand platform content is authorised to be available.

    The NFSA will not make an attempt to identify any account holder on the basis of the information submitted, unless for the purpose of addressing a query made by that account holder to the NFSA.

    You may cancel your account at any time.

    In the unlikely event of an investigation, a law enforcement agency or other government agency may exercise its legal authority to inspect the NFSA’s collected data or information relating to an NFSA-branded video-on-demand platform.

  3. Disclosure of information collected

    We may disclose your personal information that we collect to our:

    • technology service providers, including platform service providers, cloud hosting service providers, software suppliers, cyber security providers, and support and maintenance service providers to the extent that they can provide services to us, or are necessary to provide services to you on an NFSA-branded video-on-demand platform

    • online payment service providers

    • analytics service providers.

    The third parties we disclose information to, or allow to collect information about you, may be located in Australia or outside Australia.

    We require that all third parties and services providers have appropriate controls to protect your personal information and that they only use your personal information for authorised purposes.

    The NFSA will not sell or receive payment for disclosing or granting access to your personal information.

    The NFSA may provide links to third party content on a NFSA-branded video-on-demand platform and in electronic communications. The NFSA does not have any control over the privacy practices of those third parties. Please check the website of each relevant third party for details of their privacy policies.

  4. Accessing your information held by us

    You have the right to request access to personal information that is held by the NFSA about you. Requests for access will be dealt with by the NFSA in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) or Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
